Getting Started
What is safe-to-spend?⌄
Safe-to-spend is the amount you can spend without missing bills or dipping below your safety buffer. MoneySplit calculates it as:
Income − Bills − Buffer = Safe to Spend
It updates automatically as you log spending and mark bills as paid.
What's the difference between Daily and Monthly mode?⌄
Daily mode divides your remaining safe-to-spend by the days left in the month, giving you a daily spending budget. Monthly mode shows your total remaining safe-to-spend for the entire month. Choose Daily if you want day-by-day guidance, or Monthly for a big-picture view.
How do I set up my income?⌄
Go to Profile > Income Type to choose your income style:
- Steady income: Enter your pay amount and how often you're paid (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, or monthly). The app converts it to a monthly figure.
- Variable income: Enter your earnings for the last 3 or more months. The app averages them to estimate your monthly income.
Bills
How do I add a bill?⌄
Tap the + button on the Bills tab, or use the "Add bill" quick action on the Dashboard. Enter the bill name, amount, frequency (weekly, monthly, or annual), and due date.
What does "Overdue" mean?⌄
A bill is marked as overdue when its due date has passed and it hasn't been marked as Paid or Skipped. Overdue bills are deducted from your safe-to-spend amount until you resolve them.
How do I mark a bill as paid?⌄
Swipe left on any bill in the Overdue or Upcoming list. You'll see options to mark it as Paid, Skip it, or Delete it.
What is the 10 bill limit?⌄
Free users can track up to 10 bills. If you need more, upgrade to MoneySplit Pro for unlimited bill tracking.
Spending
How do I log a spend?⌄
Tap the + button on the Spending tab, or use the "Add spend" quick action on the Dashboard. Enter the amount, pick a category, and optionally add a note and date.
Why can I only see 30 days of history?⌄
Free users can view the last 30 days of spending history. Upgrade to MoneySplit Pro to access your complete spending history.
Can I edit or delete a spend?⌄
Swipe left on any spending entry to delete it. To edit, tap the entry to view its details and make changes.
Budget & Safety Buffer
What is the safety buffer?⌄
The safety buffer (also called buffer floor) is a minimum amount you want to keep untouched each month. Your safe-to-spend calculation will never recommend spending into your buffer. Set it in Profile > Buffer Floor.
How is my safe-to-spend calculated?⌄
Your safe-to-spend is calculated as:
Monthly Income − Bills Due This Month − Spending This Month − Buffer Floor = Safe to Spend
If you have overdue bills, those are also deducted. The result is never negative — it shows zero if you've exceeded your budget.

How do I restore my purchase?⌄

Account
How do I change my currency?⌄
Go to Profile > Currency and select your preferred currency. All amounts throughout the app will display in your chosen currency. Your data is stored in USD internally and converted for display using current exchange rates.
How do I delete my account?⌄
Go to Profile > Account & Security > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your account and all associated data from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
Is my data secure?⌄
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your data is stored with row-level security, meaning each user can only access their own records. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plaintext.
